Sol Yoga Teachers Anna Holden-Martz

Anna has been practicing yoga since 1999, when she started her practice as a way to recover from intense physical activity. In 2003, she discovered a passion for Astanga and vinyasa yoga, and has been practicing those disciplines ever since. She received her 200 hour certification in 2009 and has been teaching every since. Recently, Anna has been studying the benefits of alignment-based therapeutic yoga to aid in injury recovery. She enjoys creating fun, challenging classes that not only help students improve their practice, but also aid them in their other physical activities. Anna believes in practicing with a sense of humor in order to combat negative thoughts during practice, specifically those about perfection. She includes pranayama exercises in her classes to calm the body and sooth the mind. Her favorite postures are arm balances and inversions, so expect to find yourself upside down at least once in her classes! Off the mat, Anna enjoys being in nature and spending time with her family. Anna is a Reiki practitioner and has studied various forms of meditation. She uses her clairvoyant abilities to help clients learn how to heal themselves.
